The Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU), established in 1979 as a collaboration between Mahidol University (Thailand), Oxford University (UK), and the Wellcome Trust (UK), is dedicated to conducting targeted clinical trials and public health research. Their mission is to discover and develop appropriate, practical, and affordable interventions that measurably improve the health of people living in resource-limited parts of the world. Community and stakeholder engagement is aimed at ensuring that the research conducted by MORU is relevant, ethical, and responsive to the communities they serve.

MORU has a network of Community Advisory Boards who meet regularly to share valuable community insights on how to conduct research and health programs in the most ethical and impactful ways. The video below describes the range of ways in which MORU works with Community Advisory Boards.
